About Betsy

I have seven years of experience at youth-focused nonprofits and as a tutor and mentor in both individual and group settings, primarily for elementary and middle school ages. I am currently completing academic research, but I miss working directly with young people and am looking for opportunities to support their continued growth and development however I can during this challenging and confusing time. I have a master's degree in public policy and feel comfortable providing academic support in a broad range of topics, including math, science, writing and literature, and intermediate French and Latin. I am passionate about positive youth development and growth mindset strategies, and I have trained other adults on using these techniques when volunteering with young people. I have a flexible schedule and would be available for remote or in-person (following proper COVID protocols) support.
