I enjoy reading, baking, building, making, and creating with children. Previously, I engaged children as a summer counselor for a preschool summer camp in a class of older four and 5-year-old where I supervised swimming daily. I have also substituted daily in classrooms of varying age groups (2-5-year-old) where I gained tons of nap time experience. I enjoyed working at camp and preschool which both focused on child-directed exploration and learning through nature and curiosity. More recently, I have been a weekday nanny for four families: 2yo boy (June 2020-March 2021), 3yo boy (summer 2022), 2yo boy (summer 2023), and 2-month-old and 3yo boys (summer 2023).

Akea watched my toddler son over summer break and she was amazing! She has such a peaceful and calming presence and my son took to her immediately. She was so patient with him and learned to play the games that he liked to play. She even started to give him swimming lessons. The only reason we ended our sitting arrangement is because she had to go back to school and we were so sad to see her go. I would definitely hire her again!
