About Allison

Hello! My name is Allison. I am 31 years old and happily engaged with a 5-year-old dog named Shiro. I have been an elementary general music teacher to students in grades K-6 for 8 years and I absolutely love it! Prior to becoming a music teacher, I was a lead teacher for a 3's class at a preschool from September 2015 until August 2016 in my hometown of Richmond, VA. My experience in childcare begins when I was a child, helping my mom care for my 5 younger siblings. I learned to change a diaper at 9, for example. I spent high school babysitting and college summers working at child care centers, swim schools, and summer camps with children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 14 years old. I also was a nanny for three boys (6, 3, 3 months), for a time. Since becoming a music teacher in 2016, I have spent every summer working at summer camps for elementary-age children. This summer I am looking forward to hopefully being a part-time nanny!
