I earned my Masters in Teaching, from the University of Virginia. I am a licensed educator in Florida. I was a teacher for the School District of Palm Beach County and at Pine Crest Middle. My experience includes 7 years of teaching in top performing schools (3 years in Northern VA and 4 years in Boca). I have also completed numerous student teaching placements (towards earning my degree) in VA schools as well as abroad in Belfast, UK. While my specialization is in secondary (grades 6-12) social studies instruction, I can tutor and assist in a variety of subjects and capacities. I'm able to help with colleges prep, essay writing, and applications. I'm also able to do SAT reading and writing prep. Additionally, I can tutor in reading, phonics, and spelling for all ages. I have a flexible schedule! I can travel to meet for tutoring sessions as well as do virtual sessions.

Hello Parents! I recently transferred to UVA from Northern VA and I am excited to start meeting and caring for Charlottesville kids! From summer camp counselor to Au Pair to Suzuki violin teacher I have interacted with children of all different backgrounds and loved every second of it. I have done foster-care babysitting, elder care, nannying, lots of special needs care, and every other type of as-needed babysitting you can think of. Parents like me because I am punctual, trustworthy, engaging to their children, and because the kids love me. Being away from parents is hard sometimes and I try to make babysitting a fun event for the kids. This Summer I am taking classes and working as a research assistant in a child development lab, so I am mainly available evenings and weekends for date nights or back up care. I am currently a stay-at-home mom of a2-year-old, former nanny, teacher of 8 years, and worked at several daycares and summer camps over the years. I have been home with my son since he was born and worked for a few families since then. Prior to that I worked as both an upper and lower elementary school teacher for Fairfax County and have my masters in reading from UVA. I'm also a certified reading specialist. My son is used to having other children around and loves playing with other kids-he's very social! I'm primarily looking for a playmate for him. I'm looking to work with a family who is willing to bring their child/children to my house as my son doesn't nap anywhere other than his crib, and he still needs his nap. However, if you're looking for something PT I'm willing to travel to your home if it doesn't interfere with nap-time (12-2pm). I also have 2 spare bedrooms for taking naps, a fenced in deck and yard and live in a cul-de-sac in a great neighborhood in Lake Ridge. I do have a large teddy bear of a dog, but he would be kept downstairs and wouldn't be around the children. With my education and background I plan to incorporate learning through reading stories, songs, arts and crafts and other educational activities depending on the age and needs of the child. In addition to the love and care I would provide to your child, I also want to be able to enrich their lives by encouraging life-long learning. Childcare Provider with over 20 years of experience seeking part-time Nanny and/or Babysitting work. I began babysitting during high school for my English teacher and have continued to do ever since. While attending UVA, I volunteered with the Madison House Daycare Program at a Presbyterian Church in the Infant Room for 2 years. The majority of my babysitting experience is with newborns/infants to 3-years-old, but I have worked with older children, ages 4 through 12, as well as children with special needs, such as dietary restrictions (gluten-intolerance) and ADHD. I love reading to children since I have a theater background, playing games as well as doing arts & crafts. I am also Pediatric and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certified. I love animals (especially cats!) so I have no problem working in homes with pets present.
