I retired from professional Dressage training and competition in 2008 and transitioned to teach high school special education (14 years now). I have a small farm with horses, cats and dogs and love to supplement $$ by helping other people with their critters!

I have always loved children and started my first "Babysitters Club" around the neighborhood at age 12! My dream to become a teacher slowly began to evolve from a very young age. I was fortunate enough to have a public school principal as a mother who brought me with her to work often. I loved helping around the building and reading to young children. This passion and excitement continued through middle and high school and straight through University of Maryland College Park, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education. I Completed my Masters degree in Counselor Education and currently work as a School Counselor with BCPS. I am hoping to find a loving and caring family to grow with, that I could provide childcare for. At this time I am available weekend evenings. However have flexible hours throughout the week this summer. I charge $25/hr and have a three hour minimum. I hope to hear from you soon:-)

Hi! I have been a Life Coach for a Deaf and Autistic lady for 3 years. I was a personal assistant for her father coordinated plans, ideas, appointments, shopping, decision-making, problem-solving, discussions, and communication with him. Transported his daughter to job training, doctor appointments, stores, dry cleaner, and other places. Assisted her with independent living skills. I was a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing for 5 1/2 years. I would love to assist a person that needs help to go with groceries, clothing, or general shopping, do errands, drive/go to appointments, prepare food, light cooking, and cleaning. I would love to plan for a party and get things for it. It inspired me to do this kind of work as I enjoy working and assisting people. I have been babysitting ever since I was in the 10th grade. I am the oldest child of four and have cared for my younger siblings ever since they were babies. Over the past years I have worked with a couple of different families. I worked over the summer for a family with three children. 2 boys and a girl, ages 5, 3 and 9 months old. I took them to the pool, and we played outside, we had story time and dress up. I also created workbooks for the girls to help them prepare for school. I worked with a little girl who was developmentally delayed. Alongside her physical therapist I was able to reach her milestones. I babysat all of my sophomore year in high school. I have house sat for a week. I often times have babysat during the weekends. I watch kids between the ages of newborn to 12 years old. While babysitting we read stories, play learning games, and I make meals.

Due to Covid and family emergencies, I left my job in October as a reading specialist in the Adams/ York County area. I would like to continue to support students by providing personalized reading intervention in my home - South Hanover. I am certified K-6th grade and a certified ESL program specialist through Capital Area Intermediate Unit. I'm very passionate about students falling in love with reading but enjoy supporting students in other subjects as well.
