S 7 yr old girl w/cognitive disabilities; wheelchair-bound and non-verbal, but easily gets her point across w/basic signs & approx 10 spoken words. Can get around house by crawling/pulling herself up. Sits in a normal chair to eat & can feed herself finger foods/small bites unassisted. She does require diapering. Very happy; She loves books and can easily entertain herself. I was promoted and will need to travel 1x a month/every 5 weeks for approx 3 weekdays (2 nights), depending on the assignment. I will also need one night off a week (sometimes I will skip a week) for a much needed mom-night off or a weekend beach day. Travel trips are on school days so you'd take her to bus stop in AM and pick her up in afternoon and provide care overnight on those days I am traveling. He is being seen by specialists but overall is a fantastic kid especially one on one. He loves being outside. He is verbal and has no special needs in the way of physical medical conditions. The care would be in my home. He is potty trained while awake but wears pull ups during sleeping times. I am looking for someone who is patient and is not opposed to be active with a little one. You would not be required to bring him to any appointments or any transportation. I am an emergency registered nurse but the hours would only be regular schedule as my mom would take over the after hours portion. I do have an older child who attends regular school but she won't be in your care.
