Looking for a caregiver for my 22-year-old son who has moderate autism. Mom needs to get out of the house on occasion, so I am looking for someone with patience and understanding. My son is non-verbal, he uses an ipad to communicate. Mostly he enjoys sitting outside in lawn chairs watching birds fly by, playing with his flags and gym mats. He is self-sufficient as far as toilet trained and feeding himself. However, would need someone to warm up meals for him. He is a sweet affectionate young man, very small for his age (5'6 135lbs).

We have a job position but the schedule will vary. It will be a as needed basis. The current job is June 2nd and 3rd from 9 a.m. To 2:30 p.m. The job could vary from being needed just a few hours a week to being needed for 3+ hours for 3 days. My wife's work schedule varies and we only need a sitter for when our work schedules overlap. Candidate must be comfortable with large dogs and experience with autism and ADHD is a huge plus. The job requires primarily being a friend, assistance with dressing, stretching exercises, respiratory treatment set up, and bathroom needs. Other responsibilities include maintaining their rooms, some easy meal preparation, occasional folding of laundry, helping care for their service dogs etc. We don't expect our caregivers to know how to care for our boy's special needs.
