We are looking for a new member of the family. Someone we can rely on and who will care for our daughter. Someone who is comfortable looking after a special needs child and shows compassion and patience. We are flexible with hours/days but need someone who is willing to commit to the job and be a stable part of our daughters life. The job will mostly be a mothers helper, as mom will be home most of the time and you will be there to just help out and assist. Once everyone is comfortable, there will be some babysitting so that we can go out on the occasional date night. We are fun to be around and it's important you have a sense of humor and can maintain a positive attitude. Our daughter 11, nonverbal and is low functioning autistic. She can walk and has a few limited signs to communicate. She needs help with feeding, dressing, bathing and going to the bathroom. Overall she is a happy kid but like everyone can throw the occasional tantrum. She loves to play, swim in our pool and go for walks in the stroller or drives in the car but sometimes is happy to be left alone in her room with her music and the iPad. She is epileptic and went eight years seizure free but has had a few short seizures (less than a minute) in the past few months. Being nonverbal she can at times get frustrated and has some behavioral issues.
