About who needs care: Mainly has balance issues, walking, getting to the bathroom. Enjoys reading, watching TV, sitting outdoors when the weather is nice.
She is hard of hearing, but has hearing aids that help.
She has some incontinence issues, not severe, and will usually wear an adult diaper.
She wakes up late in the morning, around 10 or 11 am, has breakfast, maybe a snack for lunch. Will nap in the afternoon from about 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Then dinner and remain in the living room reading or watching TV. May have physical therapist stop by a couple of times a week. Her adult son will drop by to check in and socialize, generally in the evening. She will go to bed around 10:30 p.m. and usually sleeps through the night without needing to get to the bathroom.
About the care needs: Someone friendly who enjoys conversation, but not overly talkative.
She is NOT a FOX news fan, fyi. She watches MSNBC and enjoys older TV shows like "Murder She Wrote", "The Golden Girls", "Seinfeld" and the Hallmark Channel.
Caregiver who is fluent in English with not too much of an accent is helpful since she is hard of hearing.
She has a cat, Cleo who is a very sweet indoor, female cat. So there is a little box that needs tending to. Cleo is a very clean, older (13 yr old) cat who is quiet and loving.
She doesn't have many hobbies that she part-takes in, but might be persuaded to work on a puzzle.
She will need someone who can run to the store for groceries as well as take her to medical appointments when needed.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
