We are seeking hands-on care to assist my mother with caregiving needs for my father in Pacifica who suffers from dementia. Assistance with bathing, dressing, and bathroom hygiene is required. Our son is loving preschool, but the current onslaught of viruses, especially RSV, has us worrying for our incoming newborn (should arrive by April - we have a newborn specialist lined up to help the first 3 months). We are going to switch to at-home learning in order to protect the newborn, and are looking for someone to help full-time. This is a live-in position for at least the first 4 months (private room, hall bath, and car access provided). Relocation OK. We're seeking someone who is experienced with and passionate about the early learning stages of preschoolers and is skilled at building creative and functional spaces at home for child-led, and play-based education, plus plenty of nature adventures. There is potential to come with us back to Kauai's North Shore around the end of the summer.

About who needs care: Mom is fine, only takes two pills. She is recovering from a hospital stay and will need help when she gets home. Physical therapy, getting in and out of bed, assisted in her walking, dressing, helping her go to the bathroom and keeping her out of bed during the day. Her day would start with breakfast in the kitchen, walking around the house, some stretching and weight lifting, having lunch, ... oh gee a regular persons day is how she lives... she just needs some help... and so do I with it all.... : ) About the care needs: Mom is recovering from a hospital stay is in a rehab right now and is doing great. She can still can walk and only takes two pills and is mentally sharp. She needs assistance with some physical therapy right now, walking until she gets her strength back, going to the bathroom, dressing, getting in and out of bed and staying out of bed during the day and keeping good conversations alive in her. She need to get back to her regular life with some assistance... and I could sure use the help too : ) Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
