My aunt had a stroke and is in rehab currently. We plan on moving her to step down skilled facility for further therapy but then want to bring her home. We will be looking to have a caregiver around the clock to help with bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers, feeding, and companionship. She currently does need assistance and may continue to require a standing lift for transfers. Family is very involved but unable to live with her. We would like to find caregivers looking for long term shifts to help create consistency and familiar faces. She has been independent her whole life until this stroke, and we are doing our best to help her progress and remain in her own home with her 2 dogs.
Bathing, dressing, grooming. Out to recliner. Making meals and assisting with eating and drinking. Taking her out to back patio for some sun and change in scenery. She is starting to walk with extensive assist in therapy and may be on a walker however caregiver will need to be comfortable with standing lift for toileting and transfers.
She enjoys movies, tv, likes getting her hair/nails done. Enjoys her 2 dogs which are very friendly. Likes to look nice and has enjoyed her independence.
We would like consistent caregivers who are friendly, outgoing, and reliable who also aren't afraid to push her a little to do things for herself to maintain some independence. We would prefer first aid and CPR certification for choking hazard due to stroke.
There is a driveway to park or on street right outside of the home
2 dogs. One is a 14-year-old sprinter spaniel and the other is a 1-year-old cavalier King Charles. Both are friendly, housetrained, and vaccinated
