Full Time
About who needs care: My wife is a young stroke victim. She needs help w transfers, bathing, dressing. A typical day would start w giving my wife a shower and helping her dress and then either giving her or clearing away breakfast. The caregiver could need to serve my wife lunch as well, but probably not dinner. In morning or afternoon, the caregiver might need to transport Ann to physical, speech, or occupational therapy at NRH. The caregiver would need to help my wife manipulate her iPad. The caregiver should use downtime to ensure laundry is done (including for me and our daughter) and that our beds are made and the kitchen and bathroom are legitimately clean.
About the care needs: My wife needs someone warm, upbeat but not giddily so, hardworking, with a bit of a sense of humor. My wife was an author and journalist before the stroke. She does not like it when caregivers hover too much. They need to be strong enough to help her in and out of the shower. Punctuality is a key. Helping her with some of her recovery work in a serious but kind way would be a plus.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
