About who needs care: My mom is normally a self-sufficient 88-year-old, a former Medical Secretary at Akron General for over 25-years. She was discharged last Saturday after a 10-day stay for a severe Gall Bladder infection, has to wear a drain for next few weeks. Medicare is providing an in-home nurse a few times a week and a PT couple times a week. We need someone to come out on a flexible schedule 2-3 hours a shift for light cleaning, personal assistance getting in and out of the shower, meal help and perhaps an errand if needed. We are not sure yet of which days and hours.
About the care needs: Friendly, sincere, patient, and has had a background check to insure my mom's safety, you understand. This is not at stage of companionship, just helping mom with the things she cannot do like go to the basement and do laundry or stand and cook or vacuum and dust, clean the bathrooms. Part cleaner, part personal assistant.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
