My mother gets up around 7 a.m. She makes her bed and begins worrying about different things. She is having trouble knowing what she's supposed to do every day, so we have begun a task list to make sure she takes her meds, tests her sugar, and drinks water. We haven't figured out a good structure yet, so we're experimenting using meal times as our semi-constants.
Mom loves gardening and watching the birds at the bird feeder. She enjoys reading, walking the dog, and yoga. I would love to get her back into some of these things.
We're looking for someone who has experience with dementia. If this person could help us get her on a schedule, we would absolutely take the advice. We don't want to become burned out.
We live in a neighborhood and have plenty of driveway parking. No public transit. You will need your own car.
Our family includes a lovable, empathetic pitbull named Missy and my mom's spoiled rotten Shih Tzu, Gypsy. Gypsy is the terrifying one, but both will cave for treats.
