I love helping learners make connections that allow them to discover reading and math with increasing independence. I am going into my 8th year of working as a lead Kindergarten teacher. Prior to working as a teacher I tutored and worked in a therapeutic staff support role with students who had autism. Math I am highly experienced in teaching early math skills from counting through sorting and composition to addition and subtraction (pre-k through rising 1st grade concepts). Reading Teaching young learners how to read is one of the biggest joys of being a Kindergarten teacher. In my school I am also the K-2 Literacy Content Lead. In that role I helped shape k-2 literacy small groups and planned our school wide literacy night. I have completed Lexia LETRS Volume 1 professional development on reading instruction and the concepts that are foundational to learning to read.
