I am available for daytime and evening care for seniors or individuals who have cognitive or mobility issues, injuries, or are recovering from surgery. I am a retired mental health therapist with 7 years of providing intermittent care for a 74-year-old man with end-stage MS. My recent experience has been with two male patients, 88 and 93, both with impaired mobility and thinking. I have good cooking, housekeeping, laundry, and hygiene skills, can manage medications and breathing devices, can help with home organization and clerical tasks, and can transport clients and run errands. My handyman skills are very good. I can handle a Hoyer lift, all types of motor chairs and mobility aids, and breathing machines. I've been blessed with a genuine interest in the lives of others, am well-read, and have a natural drive to be a supportive companion. I can provide a list of references if requested - people who know me well because they have worked with or lived with me for many years.
