About Teresa

I had an internship in high school where I assisted students with Special Needs such as down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, non-verbal, immobile, etc. with classwork, homework, and daily life skills. My role in this internship was very similar to a tutor, if anything at a higher level of difficulty. I also am a certified teacher in the country of Belize, where I spent time volunteering as both a teacher at a pre-school, as well as a tutor at a literacy program, where I worked one-on-one with students and tutored them despite a language barrier. I am currently pursuing a degree in Special Education: Severe Disabilities, as well as a second degree in Spanish with a concentration in Secondary Education. I have completed courses where I learned about strategies to teach students with a fixed or growth mindset. Lastly, I also have had extensive training on how to effectively work with a child in order to create equality and provide a comfortable learning environment.
