About Susan

A couple of summers ago, I was with children kindergarten through sixth grade for their eight-week summer day camp. I worked as a day camp counselor taking kids to the park, and doing fun activities like crafts and games. For the past school year, I have worked in customer service but I would love to get back to working with children. Besides volunteer work with kids, I have babysat for a 4-year-old and for twin girls age 2. I'm an undergraduate at the University of San Francisco, whose mission statement is "to educate leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world." Based on my experiences with bullying and disadvantaged youth, I am studying sociology with hopes of eventually getting my LCSW. With a degree I believe I will be able to make a positive contribution to children, their families and my community by educating and improving communication and understanding. I can't wait to start working for your family because your children will be entertained and learn while I'm overseeing them with board games, songs, arts and crafts. My activities will be fun while promoting learning and growth. I love arts and crafts, especially those that involve food. My favorite things to do are to read, and I like to read to others. Currently, I am volunteering as a tutor and teacher of math, furthering my experience working with children. Resume of past volunteer and work experience is available upon request
