About Sophie

Previous childcare experience: Behavioral therapist, inclusion counselor, part-time nanny/babysitter, swim coach. As a behavioral therapist I worked with children ages 2-14 with developmental disabilities, most commonly autism. I was responsible for their safety and well being, but I was also there as a means of support to help the child thrive in home, school and play environments. I handled about 8 clients a week, working with each child from 2 - 12 hours a week. This job taught me patience and professionalism, and the importance of remaining calm and caring for a child in high-stress situations. I have experience caring for multiple children at once; I worked in a classroom of 15-16 5-year-olds, and while my job was in part tracking the emotional, social, and developmental progress of my child, it was also to ensure the safety and happiness of every preschooler. Other past experiences: transporting children to after-school activities, changing diapers, homework help, etc
