About Sharis

I'm an experienced LAUSD substitute working with hundreds of students available to tutor during the summer! I have a MA from USC in Communications and BA from UCLA in Sociology and Spanish. I love teaching teenage students the necessary literacy skills to overcome their academic challenges and get them college-ready! I also help post-pandemic middle-schoolers re-instate study habits through one-on-one coaching. I'd describe my personality as patient, committed, and kind. I've worked as a youth mentor encouraging 4th graders through high schoolers to use creative tools to enhance their communication skills and to feel more confident. My skills include lesson planning, incorporating syllabi and K-12 academic standards, and evaluating progress. I'm looking for a job that can be flexible with my schedule. In my spare time, I like to work on my photography and videography production business.
