About Shannon

Hello there, thanks for stopping by! I have 4 years of diverse teaching experience. I've taught in an all outdoor preschool for 2 years, and have been a lead garden teacher for a K-5th school. While teaching in both programs I created curriculum based on my students interests, as well as created lessons based on the districts core standards. My approach to learning is based around providing interactive lessons, creating child-lead learning, & most importantly fostering a child's wonder for the natural world. In addition to my school-based teaching, I was also an at-home teacher for a kindergartner during the Pandemic. It was at that exact time that I was able to step up, create an entire at-home classroom, and take charge of the child's online learning schedule/ create a full day educational flow even past the child's zoom classes. Throughout that experience I was able to pull all of my knowledge and love for teaching, and create an enriching learning experience at-home.
