About Sandra

I am the mother of five children, four of my own and one adopted child, and am the grandmother of 17 beautiful grandchildren. In my early teenage years, I recognized my special love for children, and by the age of 14, I was offered my first job babysitting three little girls. On March 3, 2002, my youngest daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and seven months later, she was diagnosed with Down syndrome. She is the first of 17 grandchildren, and she needed extra care to assure proper development. She needed a caregiver with patience and love for children with special needs. At that time, the company I worked for was closing their business, I felt my job was to care for the little angel that had been placed in my hands. My focus was to learn how to help her adapt to her disability and lead a normal life. I obtained my CDA and a ton of certifications to be the best provider I could be. I feel I have been equipped with everything I needed to ready my granddaughter for success.
