About Ramona

Hi, I am currently employed as a full time English as Second Language (ESL) teacher in a local charter school. I love the challenge of making learning fun by using great storybooks, games, songs & chants, along with hands-on activities. I've provided after-school tutoring for students between 1st grade - Middle School. My tutoring experience includes working for public schools, a private tutoring agency, and freelance work. My special expertise lies in reading, writing, ESL, and Kindergarten readiness skills. Some of my former students were 2 - 3 years behind in their reading skills when they began working with me. With student motivation, parent support, and my intervention I believe that all students can improve their skills, and I enjoy that kind of challenge. I have a huge library of interesting and fun resources in my collection. I'm prepared to provide both remedial tutoring and/or enrichment to best meet the individual needs of your student/s.
