About Peter

Hello, my name is Peter! I started working with kids when I was 15 years old when I became a staff member at Cubscout Camp Discovery in Happy Valley, OR. Since then I have worked with 7 different outdoor education and summer camp programs adding up to 11 summers spent as summer camp staff. During the school year I have been working for Northwest Outdoor Science School, I loved my time as a high school volunteer for Outdoor School and I turned that into a career for 7 years where I filled a number of roles mentoring high school students and teaching them the ins and outs of childcare and education. I spend winters taking classes at Portland Community College and substituting as a paraeducator in the Parkrose School District. Outside of work I love reading, hiking, movies, video games, board games, photography, tv, and road trips. I have driven from Portland to Chicago over 10 times, and I am currently planning a road trip down to the Grand Canyon with my partner in May.
