I am a mother of three kids and I have a lot of experience working with them. I am been a basic school teacher over the years and I love working with kids.
Perpetual was hired for an awake overnight position with my loved one for a period of almost 8 months. She did her tasks in a pretty good manner, but she was observed sleeping more than 6 times and even after reassuring me that it would never happen again, she slept. This was crucial because the care recipients vitals are inconsistent and can drop without warning. She also showed up 8 times late and carried on conversations and laughing in the middle of the night when patient was trying to sleep. She was told Feb 5th by a termination letter that her last day was Feb 14. Even so, when asked She agreed to continue to work past the 14th and was told the reason was until we could hire a new person. She was eventually told the new person was starting and was told on the 19th her last day was the 21st. She was supposed to report to work on the 20th and didn’t. When she was contacted after she was supposed to be at work, she said she wasn’t coming back and was starting a new job the 20th. Now if she truly had a new job why would she not tell me so that I could try and get coverage? I truly believe she responded in anger and vindictiveness but it was her conduct that lost her her job. She was counseled Face to Face at least three times about her sleeping. She was given every opportunity to fix the problem. Her not showing up was extremely unprofessional and left us scrambling to find care. On top of this she knew I couldn’t fill in because I had a recent reconstructive foot surgery in November and haven’t been cleared to work yet. You can’t sleep on an awake job and show up late without consequences.
