About Onika

I'd describe my personality as Loving, Calm, Positive and Dependable. I lost my parents years ago. I never knew my Grandparents. I Love being of service, being in the presence and wisdom of those in their Golden Years, hearing stories of the past, offering my Love and Support to assure their feeling as safe and comfortable as possible. Seven years ago, a caregiver friend asked me to care for her 99-year-old client with dementia. I fell in Love immediately. We drove to the ocean, sang 1940's songs and went about her daily routine. My name was passed on to her friends, bringing me years of employment with a variety of clients. In my spare time, I hike, dance, do yoga, cook nourishing meals and read. I've had a daily Gratitude practice for years, which has helped me remain calm, loving and patient through all circumstances. My skills are many, especially with dementia. I gain trust through presence, listening and great communication. I pay close attention to needs and preferences.
