About Mona

I'd describe my personality as patient, creative, and communicative! I love working with kids because I enjoy being a supportive, reliable presence, much like the mentors who shaped me. I know how deeply early relationships shape a child's view of the world, and it's meaningful to help build that foundation. I began working with kids as a teen, mentoring local orchestra students and helping neighborhood families. While earning my psychology degree, I was an assistant teacher at a daycare/preschool, managing a classroom of energetic 2-year-olds (and successfully potty training them!). I later worked at an inpatient treatment center with high-risk teens ages 11-17, specializing in trauma, grief, substance use, and mood disorders. I also held a postgrad research position at Yale School of Medicine (pediatrics dept). I prioritize teaching/modeling communication and emotion regulation skills. I also love playing violin, volunteering with rescue dogs, and creating mental health content!
