About Melisa

Hi! My name is Melisa. I have been working as a certified educator for the past 17 years. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2006 and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership in 2010. Since then, I have taught grades 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9th. I was an Acceleration Specialist for a year and an Instructional Coach for 2 years. I also have a current fingerprint clearance card. Currently, I took a year off to be able to pay special attention to one of my children who has special needs. I specialize in teaching math and reading. I am happy to use what you may have from your child's teacher to direct our learning goals or I can design my own lessons and we can make goals as a collaborative team. If your child has an IEP I will make sure we are working towards his or her goals. I love children and I know that in order to teach a child well, one must build a relationship and earn their trust first. I hope to hear from you and your child soon!
