About Melanie

My name is Melanie and I am going into my first year of graduate school to earn my MEd in Mental Health Counseling BSU. This is my second masters degree program, the first of which I completed in 2014. Since then I've been working as a professional actor, teaching artist, social worker in a domestic violence shelter, and tutor. I've also been a caregiver for children and pets for over 20 years. While I don't have any paid senior care experience, I believe all of my other previous work experience speaks to my reliability, comfort operating in other people's homes, adaptability when it comes to other people's schedules and priorities, and sense of responsibility. Adding senior care to my resume is very important to me because I am training to become a mental health care professional, and I believe that I have a lot to learn from seniors. I would be very grateful for the opportunity to provide care giving in whatever capacity is needed in this community.
