Experience: 10 yrs
I am an experienced elderly caretaker , advisor and human service worker. I have completed a variety of training and professional development programs and have demonstrated abilities in supervision, organization and management. I am skilled in accommodating individuals with all needs, and I am confident in my abilities to be creative and communicate effectively. I have been awarded Direct Support Professional of the year in 2010, and Above And Beyond in 2011 by the state of Tennessee. I have training/certifications in nutritional management, first aid and adult CPR training , client rights (bill of rights and abuse), and medication administration and management. I have well over 10+ years of service working with individuals of all walks of life, including elderly, homeless, mentally and physically challenged , and troubled youth. My experiences have taught me to be respectful, caring, patient and dedicated.

Matthew worked for me fulltime for three years caring for my father who is now in stage 6 Alzheimer's disease. During his employment, I found Matthew to be 100% reliable, trustworthy and capable! With Matthew at the helm, I could trust that my father would be clean, well fed, taken to appointments and kept safe while I was away. He even cared for my animals and my home and supervised other caregivers during the times I was out of town. My father responded not so well to Matthew's authoritative style in the beginning, but extremely well later on when more structure was needed. In fact, Matthew was the only caregiver my father would cooperate with once he became bedridden! The only reasons I would not rehire Matthew are that he is unable to be flexible with work hours even temporarily and our communication seemed to fail at the end. I asked Matthew to work a different shift for a week or two. I never received a response about that, but was disappointed to learn from another caregiver and not from Matt himself that prior to being asked to work a different shift temporarily, Matthew had already interviewed for another position while he was on vacation, accepted the position, and set a resignation date. If not for that, I would 100% recommend him as a caregiver!
