About Matthew

Hi there, I am an experienced child care provider looking to make a positive impact in children's lives. I've been working with kids since 2016 when I started working at a backpacking camp in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California as a backpacking guide. I worked with kids ranging from 8 to 18 years old, and was able to introduce young kids to the mountains for the first time, as well as train older kids how to become guides at the camp themselves. I also worked at a daycare, where I was able to work with kids in a much more structured setting. I was able to work with all ages at the center, from infants up to school aged kids. I was mainly responsible for the preschool room, and was involved in creating and implementing the daily lesson plans. I am currently finishing my degree in Psychology online at Oregon State University. I am also a musician, and play in multiple bands. I feel very strongly about helping children explore their own creativity in any form.
