About Mary Carolyn

Hi, I'm Mary Carolyn (Carly), and I have a genuine passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and thrive. I currently work as a Lead Pre-K Teacher at Downtown Ithaca Children's Center and am working toward my Master's degree in Teaching through SUNY Cortland. I have a rich background in childcare and education, with experience caring for children ages 0-13, working with individuals with special needs ages 8-23, nannying for a 3-month-old, and regularly babysitting throughout high school and college. I'm also actively involved in the lives of my nieces and nephews, who range from 0-9 years old. In addition to teaching, I have experience as a coach, personal trainer, and private piano teacher. I previously coached field hockey and lacrosse at my local middle school and love incorporating music, movement, outdoor play, games, crafts, reading, sensory activities, and hands-on learning into children's lives.
