About Marisa

Hello! I'm Marisa, and I'm looking for a wonderful family with preschool or elementary-age children to support as a part-time nanny. I studied early childhood education and worked as a Pre-K teacher before stepping away to raise my four children, who are now grown. My approach is rooted in play-based learning. I love encouraging curiosity, creativity, independence, and problem-solving through open-ended projects and everyday experiences. I believe in firm but gentle caregiving--clear boundaries, calm redirection, positive reinforcement, natural consequences, empathy, and lots of love. I want every child to feel safe, valued, and important. Most recently, I've loved nannying for a multilingual family and helping their elementary-age child build confidence with English through conversation and playful learning. Caring for and supporting children is truly a privilege, and I would love to find another wonderful family to grow with!
