I started my professional career in child care when I was 16 years old. For the past 15 years, have cared for many wonderful children. I started caring for younger family members when I was 10. Looking back, I cannot believe that was allowed, but apparently I was quite trustworthy and mature for my age. But geez, 10 is awfully young!!! Anyway, I started at a day care center on my 16th birthday as a floater/assistant teacher, traveling from infants to pre-k. I eventually became OCCS certified and found my home in the infant room as an infant teacher. I eventually got stolen away from BH and started with my first family as a nanny. My nanny experience has been wonderful and I have learned a lot about the profession, as well as what I want in a family. Children are amazing and easy to fall in love with! Parents can be tough, and they should be as if they are not comfortable with their child care provider. But if the parents and nanny have an honest and trusting relationship, then amazing bonds will be created that are hard to break.
