About Lauren

Currently employed with Granville County Public Schools as a Kindergarten instructor and pursuing Masters in Elementary Education from WGU University. Graduated from UNCW in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in social work and psychology and have many years working with populations of "high risk" children with mental health issues and developmental disabilities in a professional setting. Also have experience as a private nanny, in which I provided child care for a family with 4 children over the course of 5 years. I assisted with implementation of interventions and regularly communicated with parents to report and process progress, provided routine respite care as needed, prepared meals and snacks, transported children to school and activities, provided creative appropriate educational activities for children, reinforced discipline and daily routine and completed housework as needed. Certified as Nursing Assistant I in North Carolina as well as CPR/First Aid currently.
