About Katie

I started working with kids when I turned 16, babysitting for families in my neighborhood. When I turned 17, I got a job as a teacher assistant at my old preschool, and I've been working with kids ever since! I've always loved being around little ones and ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a teacher. I'm First Aid certified and have experience with kids of all ages, including infants as young as 6 months from working in an infant daycare classroom. I'm all about keeping kids safe, happy, and engaged through crafts, playtime, reading, or just being a dependable, calm presence in their routine. I'm a rising sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill, and I currently work as a waitress at Top of the Hill! In my free time, I love reading, running, painting, watching movies, and cooking. I grew up with two cats and a dog, so I'm very comfortable around pets. I also have my own car (a Toyota RAV4), which makes transportation easy and reliable.
