About Kathleen

I am a passionate, experienced and fun-loving child care provider who has over 15 years experience teaching and caring for children from newborn to 13 years of age as a teacher's aide at a family child care center, an intern at an elementary school and as a live-in and live-out nanny for many families large and small. My most recent position was almost 8 years with a family of 3 children, all since infancy, who I helped grow into responsible, generous, brilliant and innovative individuals by practicing such methods as mindful parenting, developmentally appropriate yet challenging activities and collaborative stem and art projects. I also help promote physical, emotional and mental health by participating in sports regularly, teaching the importance of nutritional foods, limiting screen time, utilizing chore and behavioral charts, and by encouraging communication and self awareness. I have loved and nurtured children with various personalities and special needs and treat them all as I would my own. I have recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and plan on furthering my education in child psychology in hopes to have my own Early Childhood Program where I can fully support children's social and emotional development as well as their physical and cognitive needs. On a lighter note, I am silly, affectionate, energetic, and incredibly patient and enjoy spending most of my time with children playing games, exploring the outdoors or creating works of art.
