About Kathleen

Hello, my name is Kathleen! I have a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders, and I am currently on the path towards attaining a master's degree in speech pathology. I have worked as a floating teacher, and I've received praise from parents and fellow teachers alike for my ability to quickly bond with the children I work with and effectively support their learning in a way that makes things fun! I have experience working with children from the ages of 6 weeks old to fifth grade, as well as with children and adults with intellectual disabilities. I define my work with the three following things: 1. Scaffolding creative and imaginative play- I LOVE helping children engage in play that allows them to come up with their own stories. 2. Comfort- I am always more than happy to provide hugs to children whenever needed. 3. Redirection- I believe redirection and positive reinforcement to be the most effective forms of discipline.
