About Katherine

I began babysitting a 6-year-old girl with developmental delays every Saturday so her parents could go out for the evening when I was 9 years old. My Saturday's spent with her ended 7 years later when they moved to a different state. When I was 10 years old, my little brother was born and just two short months after his arrival, my mother had to return to her full time job as well as trying to complete her nursing degree so I became his full time caregiver, except when I was at school. I took care of him until I was 18 years old and went off to college. I also have experience babysitting twin toddlers, six siblings at once ranging from ages newborn to 13 years old and also have been a nanny for my cousins newborn and 7-year-old. I have enjoyed many different activities with each child depending on their capabilities, from just holding and singing to newborns, potty training toddlers, going to the park and becoming a playmate on the jungle gym for younger children, assisting with homework and just overall watching them grow and thrive as human beings in a structured environment while building new routines or continuing routines that have already been set. I am also capable of cooking, cleaning and pet care as well, if needed.
