About Karen

Hi! I'm a proud mother and grandmother with a passion for childcare and healthy living. I spent four wonderful years teaching 2-year-olds in a Montessori setting in Lawrence, Kansas, where I learned so much about the unique ways young children learn and grow. In addition to my experience in childcare, I have a degree in nutrition and a strong interest in healthy eating. For the last seven and a half years, I've been running my own business as a professional driver. Right now, I'm living with my son, his partner, and their 9-month-old in Arcata. Lately, I've been working with a local schoolteacher and her husband, taking care of their 1-year-old son while both parents work full-time. It's been such a rewarding experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to support their family in nurturing their little one's growth and development. Recently they came off the wait-list for a daycare center, and I am now available.
