I have cared for many elderly, one recently was this year. For a week I cared for my aunt with severe dementia night and day. She needed help getting into the shower, changes of clothing, meal prep, dishes, laundry, and care of her dog, I would also sit and have conversations with her even tho she didn't know how to respond to some questions I would change the subject and find something that she connected with. I also worked with my grandma before her passing and would stay at her place to give my family a break. It included cleanup of her portable toilet sometimes cleaning off the floor if she couldn't make it in time, meal prep, dishes, laundry, friendly conversations, and deliver of medications. I also helped with the passing of another family member who was placed on hospice. I was with her helping do whatever I could, which wasn't much other than turning on shows she may have liked, giving fluids like Gatorade and water. I was with her as she took her last breath.
