About Joany

I grew up in a large Haitian family, so caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. When I attended Hamilton College, I continued babysitting for professors and administrators while pursuing an interdisciplinary degree in Genetics & Social Justice with a focus on reproductive health. Through my studies, I explored maternal and child health in the U. S., Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina. These experiences introduced me to children from many different backgrounds and taught me that, even without a shared language, play and creativity can build meaningful connections across cultures. For the past eight years, I have worked as a private tutor for elementary school-aged children, providing academic support across a variety of subjects. Alongside tutoring, I also offer regular, semi-regular, and occasional childcare services. I strive to create a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel safe, encouraged, and cared for.
