About Joanne

As a substitute teacher for several years I realized that I have a real gift interacting with children of all ages. I believe it stems from my respect for their amazing insights and (millions.. ha!) of really wonderful questions. I never cease to wonder about their inquisitive minds and since I have great patience with them, it develops into a relationship of trust, which results in compliance with joy. I guess I'm a big kid since I love arts and crafts, reading, music, drama and most of all helping with homework. YES, I love helping with HOMEWORK! Dreaming up phrases or making fun associations to help them remember or understand their work gives me a lot of satisfaction and my sense of humor develops a strong and productive relationship with them. I also love to cook yummy, healthful meals for them and their families plus involve them in the planning and prep, while explaining all the wonders of good nutrition and how it can help make them feel like real super heroes.
