About Jean

I'd describe my personality as patient, caring, and detail-oriented. I like tutoring because I enjoy working with students and sharing my love of math and reading. I'm looking for part time tutoring opportunities. I am a middle school math teacher with experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in math, reading, and writing. I started tutoring 5 years ago. I have a bachelors and masters degree in math and had a career in software development before getting my Virginia teaching certification. I have been teaching middle school in Virginia for 8 years. In my spare time, I like to go running and hiking, read, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with my family. One thing you should know about me is I believe all students can be successful - gaining confidence in your abilities is one of the most important aspects of helping students succeed.
