About Hope

I have tutored children in the American Reads America Counts volunteer program going to schools and taking out the students who were falling behind in reading and math. We would work on where they were at and then I would help them improve one on one attention. As a nanny I was always the "homework tutor" with all subjects and kids ages 6 to17 years old. I love to learn myself and I am passionate about showing each individual that, they too, are capable of learning anything they set their mind to. I also worked with a 17-year-old boy who was just a bit slow. He had ADD, ADHD and was not socially mature. I tutored him with driving and he would drive my car and I would help practice driving skills. I also helped him practice writing resumes, interview skills, and worked on life skills. I really enjoyed working with him because I could tell that he really appreciated my time with him and the positive feedback and encouragement I would give him. I thought it was rewarding and fun every day.
