Hello, My name is Emily. Teaching is my passion and my teaching philosophy is to develop positive and nurturing relationships with children. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor's degree in early and elementary education in 2013. I have had babysitting experiences since 9th grade. I had worked as a English 7 and Read 180 teacher at a FCPS middle school from 2019-2020 and a 1st grade teacher at a FCPS elementary school in 2021. I worked as a long-term substitute ESOL teacher in fall 2021 at a public elementary school and I was hired as an instructional assistant at the same school in January 2022. Prior to 2019, I had two long-term special education substitute teacher jobs for CAT A/CAT B and had subbed at FCPS since 2013. Emily definitely provided conscientious care of my elementary-aged son when I was hospitalized and attending graduate school. She asks a lot of relevant questions to prepare beforehand and enjoys cooking for and teaching children.
