About Erin

Hi! I'm Erin, an Oakland-based educator with 15+ years of experience working with young people, and I'm currently seeking private tutoring and homeschooling roles with Bay Area families. Throughout my career, I've taught students from elementary school through college, founded and directed a small middle school, taught 120 middle school students daily, designed standards-aligned curriculum across English, Math, Science, and History, and served as adjunct faculty at Prescott College. I've been privately tutoring Bay Area students since 2025 and love the individualized nature of this work-getting to know how a student learns, building on their strengths, and helping make challenging material feel manageable. I offer subject-specific tutoring, broader academic support, and HSPT preparation for 7th and 8th graders. My rate is $50-100/hour depending on services, and I'm happy to provide references from families I work with!
