About Emily

During the school year I work as a long term substitute for special education. I enjoy working with elementary aged children, and I have the most experience with this age group. I've worked with students developing reading, writing, and math skills, so I am able to offer assistance in these areas. I am a former plant biologist, and I am able to offer tutoring in biology for older kids. My favorite thing about working with kids is that watching them develop new skills, and gain confidence in their abilities. I love how resilient kids are, and how hard they will work when they set their mind to achieving something. I believe my biggest strengths are patience, communication, and punctuality. I feel that all of those skills are essential for every job, but especially important when working with children. In my spare time my husband and I like to work in our yard, take our dog on hikes, go kayaking, ride our bikes, or anything else outdoors! I look forward to working with you!
