My best work is as a companion for senior women and assisting with mobility issues. I've had three long term clients - one who I brought to dialysis, fed, and assisted weekly, also occasionally running errands, and grocery shopping (90 y/o). Another who I spent one morning a week taking on errands (93 y/0), and a third who had some dementia who I kept engaged through conversation, taking walks and playing checkers. I also assisted her at meal times 3-5 days a week and helped with toileting. Other short term clients, I've done meal prep, errands, and light housekeeping and mobility assistance. I love hearing stories from seniors, and spending quality time engaging them about their lives, both past and present. Every client is an expression of love, even the cranky ones.
