About Dereck

I am a certified high school English teacher at a highly ranked public school in the Pittsburgh area. With my knowledge of teaching literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, I am readily available to help your child grow academically as they prepare for future high school courses, the SAT, and college. I'd describe my personality as enthusiastic, engaging, and outgoing. I like tutoring because I am able to get to know students on a 1-to-1 level that is hard to come by in the classroom. Finding what works for an individual student can help to establish the confidence they need to independently succeed in the classroom.
